Pressure-balanced and thermostatic valve cartridges replaced; diverters fixed; full valve replacement when the body is shot.
New faucet installation
Your fixture or ours. Supply lines and shutoffs replaced at the same time so the next repair is easy.
Repair or replace the faucet?
A quality faucet with a worn cartridge is a repair; the cartridge costs little and the faucet is good for another decade. A builder-grade faucet with a corroded body, a cracked spout or a finish that is flaking is a replacement, because the next part will fail soon after the first. We tell you which you have before we start.
Whenever we are under a sink we check the shutoff valves. Old multi-turn valves that have not been closed in years often will not close, and that is the valve you need in a flood. Replacing them with quarter-turn ball valves while we are there is cheap insurance.

Questions
How much water does a dripping faucet waste?
A faucet dripping once per second wastes roughly 3,000 gallons a year, enough to show on a NYC water bill. It also wears the seat so the drip gets worse.
Can you install a faucet I bought myself?
Yes. Send a photo of the box or model number so we bring the right supply lines and confirm it fits your sink.
Do you repair shower valves without opening the wall?
Usually. Most cartridges and diverters are replaced through the trim. Only a failed valve body needs the wall opened, and we do that with one access panel.
Why is one faucet weak when the rest of the house is fine?
A clogged aerator or cartridge, a kinked or partly closed supply, or a failing shutoff under that sink. A quick fix in most cases.
